Stranded Porpoise at Margate

Stranded porpoiseBDMLR Medics are on site with a stranded porpoises at Margate.

The mammal, which is about 1.4 metres, has been initially reported as being in good condition.

A vet from Burnham House Vets is on the way to help assess the porpoise and pictures are being sent to Paul Jepson at ZSL for further advice.

Update: the porpoise is now being moved via the Fire Brigade's animal rescue truck to Pegwell Bay. BDMLR medics are following the porpoise to Pegwell Bay to help with the refloatation. Vet Iain Cope has taken blood samples and a has confirmed the good condition of the animal.
