Bridlington Common Seal

Seal pupHi to all at BDMLR, Lesley from Bridlington here. There I was on the beach yesterday, minding my own business, walking my 10mth old schoodle puppy Dylan when I found this delightful little seal, she looked really healthy and was just taking a rest from the rough seas we have been having but she chose a really bad place to haul out, smack bang in dog walking territory.

So I cut Dylan's walk short and ran back home (thankfully less than 5mins away) grabbed the car and Marlene (another medic) and returned to the beach. We 'bagged' her and transferred her to my cage for her onward journey(thanks to our ERYC council workers who helped to lift her into the car). We took her to a quiet beach nearby and released her there and she took herself off home. These are the rescues that I love the best, to see these wonderful creatures go home. Just in case you are wondering what a schoodle is, Dylan is a cross between a Shit-tsu and a poodle.
