Runswick Bay Seal

At 4.30pm we received a message asking for a volunteer to check on a seal at Runswick Bay, North Yorkshire. Mr Roy Harris had found a seal on the beach and it needed looking at. After taking 45 minutes to get there, we then spent 40 minutes searching a very dark beach, but happily we eventually found her. We knew straight away that she had to be lifted, a tiny little thing around four weeks old she was dehydrated, lethargic and with a runny nose but she is absolutely gorgeous. Within 30 minutes we arrived at Scarborough Sea Life Centre and handed her into the very capable hands of Josh and Helen. They gave her a good check over, her temp was 38.4, and she had 100mls of Zoolyte. She is going on to East Winch tomorrow. Note to self, remember camera next time.
