Seal pup updates

Common seal pupRichard Bradley's Common seal (uplifted from Scrabster Dec 23rd), relayed down from the BDMLR seal unit in Thurso to Middlebank is now in the outdoor pool with another 7 seals. Release will more than likely take place in the next couple of weeks.

Slipway our fully weaned grey renamed "Ken" uplifted from Ferryden on 31.12.08 has been transferred from his dry pen to a wet pen indoors. He will go in the outdoor pool for a short spell before release once SMRU have confirmed where he was originally tagged from. Ailsa is currently on holiday but is almost certain he was tagged on the Isle of May as a white coat.

Thor the seal pupOur drastically underweight grey pup Thor renamed "Tay" uplifted from Carnoustie on January 8th 2009 is progressing well. He was tube fed on intake and the next morning wolfed down 3 whole fish for his morning feed.

He is continuing to self feed and making exceptional progress.
