BDMLR Calendar competition - Open for entries!

CLOSING DATE: 1 October 2009

British Divers Marine Life Rescue is looking for your best UK marine wildlife pictures. This is a special competition because the prize is to help the foremost marine animal rescue charity in the UK.

We are looking for six images to appear in our 2010 calendar. The calendar will be sold with all the profits going to help with our rescues. But there's not a lot of time to enter. You have until the first day of October to get your entries in.

The competition will be judged by BDMLR Director and photojournalist Gavin Parsons (and he is not open to bribes!)

What are we looking for?

We need your very best UK marine animal pictures. They must be sharp, well-exposed, well-composed and high-resolution.

The six best images will be printed in the BDMLR 2010 calendar.

How to enter

To start with all we need is a low resolution jpeg to judge the competition. Pictures should be no longer than 600 pixels on its longest edge and saved as jpeg level 7. This is actually very easy to do. If you are not sure how to do this please ask a friend or email Gavin and he'll run through it. If your image is chosen, you will need to supply it as a high resolution file.

Please email your entries to

Please read the competition rules to ensure you comply.
