Medics continue to monitor seal at Lewes

Seal at LewesMedics in East Sussex are continuing to monitor a seal in the River Ouse at Lewes. For the past 5 years seals have ventured 8 miles in land to Lewes. The seal normally visits for up to a month but this year the seal seems to be spending longer in the river than normal. BDMLR HQ has received a record number of calls from concerned members of the public who see the seal on their way to work driving past the river. The seal is thought to be the same seal each year and seems to enjoy the river and hauling out on pontoons and river banks at various locations between Barcombe Mills and Newhaven.
