Seal pup rescue at Portreath

As medic Dan Jarvis was on his way home from his ‘daytime job’ at the National Seal Sanctuary, he received a telephone call from BDMLR Administrator Julia Cable, at around 13.00, to advise that a seal pup had been washed up on Portreath beach. Making his way quickly to the scene he found that the animal had already been picked up by RNLI lifeguards and placed in the vehicle on the beach. Dan quickly summoned assistance from his colleagues at Gweek and the pup was soon collected and taken to the Sanctuary.

Thanks to the RNLI Lifeguards and members of the Animal Care Team at the National Seal Sanctuary.
