In August this year, an intrepid team of youngsters were taught how to rescue, give first aid to and refloat a dolphin by BDMLR volunteers, led by Martin (Boonie) Boon in Scotland.

The exercise was filmed by CBBC for their 'Wild' series and the programme will be broadcast on CBBC at 9am this Saturday October 11th and will be available on iPlayer for a few weeks after.  Charlie Phillips from WDC is also on the programme talking about the bottlenose dolphins at Chanonry Point.

Meanwhile, down on the south coast, the BBC have been filming BDMLR getting involved in seal rescues in cooperation with the RSPCA Mallydams Wildlife Hospital, as well as removing ghost netting from wrecks.  This will be featured in a new BBC series called 'The Channel' to be aired in December.  Watch this space for further information as the programme is currently at the edit stage.
